1600 Linen Pullovers
These 2 linen shirts are very oily and crude. They were acquired from a party in Arizona, coming from their relatives in France. Following is her note.
"These 2 pullovers came from a Chalet in village of LaChal France. Dept. Haute Savoie St. Jean D”Arves.
The chalet was engraved in stone that it was completed in the year of 1603. Owned by a cousin and godfather of our son. This was built with a place for animals (cattle, sheep & pigs) were on the ground floor; the living quarters were on the floor above. The body heat from the animals generated heat for th residents above.
There was weaving machine and etc. all tools were made of wood or stone. Very little metal used. It is almost impossible to get further information now as this was given to us in 1966. The Chalet has been sold and the cousin has passed away 10 years ago."
